International Women's Day

Check out the Women in Science series on the Smithsonian channel this month.

Sunday, March 8 is International Women's Day. Since 1911, countries have celebrated the economic, political and social achievements of women. There are over 160 events planned in the U.S. alone throughout March for International Women's Day.

Purely by circumstance, all of the regularly contributing authors here at New Voices are women. As such, we know that we wouldn't be where we are today without the women who have been there before us - especially those who shaped our paths to science, policy, and advocacy. So, over the next month, we'll be introducing you to the important women in our lives who helped us get to where we are today.

We invite you to join us in this celebration by either posting about an influential woman in your life or commenting about them below.
